A passion project begun in high school, Reign: A Feudal Game was finalized as part of TWU's BFA Exhibition Course. With Reign: A Feudal Game, my hope is to provide an enjoyable alternative to the screens that permeate our society. In recent years, certain demographics have relied far too heavily on their devices for entertainment. My project offers a substitute to screen time that is both engaging and fun for both large and small groups of all ages. Incorporating elements often found in player versus player (PvP) games, Reign: A Feudal Game is designed to appeal to both video and tabletop gamers. Elements such as deceit, health points, and currency tie Reign: A Feudal Game into the much wider field of games. Many tabletop games can only be played by groups of no more than four or six, but Reign: A Feudal Game allows up to nine players to appeal to a larger audience. With the ease of online connection, it is harder than ever before for families and friends to have meaningful face-to-face interaction. With this project, I take my experience as a graphic designer, tabletop gamer, and older sibling to create a product that can be enjoyed by all demographics.
